Samantha Kenny
As an experienced occupational therapist, they have honed their skills through hands-on experience in various settings. Their prior placement at an aged care facility allowed them to work closely with clients, helping to improve their engagement, physical strength, and mobility in their daily lives. Additionally, they have completed a school-based placement, where they had the opportunity to work with children who have disabilities or developmental delays. Through their studies, they have also gained valuable experience working for a company that specializes in mobility aids and disability equipment. Furthermore, they have a history of working as a support worker, providing clients with care and support.
One of the things that they find most rewarding about their profession as an occupational therapist is the opportunity to assist clients in participating in activities they are passionate about and to help them enjoy those experiences to the fullest extent possible.
Sophie Butler
Hi! I’m Sophie and am an Occupational Therapist based on the Gold Coast. I have a passion for helping empower people to become the best version of themselves which is why I love being an OT. I am passionate about providing a fun environment and client centred therapy using a variety of intervention strategies to reach our end goal.
I have worked in paediatrics for 2 years and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it but am always open to learning and broadening my scope as a clinical professional. I love paediatrics as it’s a key time to learn and develop new skills for them to input for the rest of their lives, but I am a strong believer that you can always learn something new with the right mindset. Previously I have also had placement experience in a hospital setting and a retail assistant in medical equipment.
A little bit about myself when I am outside of work that I enjoy to do is going to pilates, walks or spending quality time with my family and friends. I think it’s important to have a great balance between your work and personal life and doing things that fill your cup to get you ready for the work week again!

Sacha Downing
I have a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) (Honours) – with First Class Honours. I have worked at the East Metropolitan Youth Unit (acute psychiatric unit for adolescents) and Adult Bentley Health Service (acute mental health ward). I progressed to work within the School Aged Service at the Autism Association of Western Australia and most recently Private Paediatrics within the disability sector. I have a wealth of experience in mental health services, functional capacity assessments, positive behaviour support, sensory processing, social skill development and family education.
I have an immense passion for supporting and empowering individuals to live a life as the best version of themselves, despite the constraints placed upon them due to their disability/diagnosis. I strive to enhance the lives of individuals with a disability, support their families and siblings, allowing them to live the life that they see for themselves. I decided to study OT for this reason – to make a difference in the lives of all people.
I have a high interest in mental health, advocating for increased support, awareness and care for those experiencing mental health difficulties.
